Investors Wealth: The Indian stock market has closed with great growth in the last trading session of the financial year 2023-24. The stock market is closed for the remaining three days of this financial year due to holidays. But the amount of money investors have made on their investments during this entire financial year is historic. In the last one year, there has been an increase of Rs 129 lakh crore in the wealth of investors in the Indian stock market.  

Market cap increased by 129 lakh crores

According to BSE data, the market capitalization of the Indian stock market on March 31, 2023 was Rs 258.19 lakh crore. Which reached Rs 386.91 lakh crore after one year on 28 March 2024. That means in one year the investors of Indian stock market have earned Rs 128.72 lakh crore.

Market cap of smallcap index increased by 26 lakh crores

During this financial year, investors have earned the most by investing in small cap stocks. The market capitalization of 1000 stocks included in the BSE Smallcap Index has increased from Rs 40 lakh crore to Rs 66 lakh crore during this one year period. That means, there has been a jump of Rs 26 lakh crore in the market capitalization of the smallcap index in one year.    

Midcap and smallcap filled with enthusiasm

If we look at the index, on March 31, 2023, BSE Sensex was at 58,991 points, which has now closed at 73,651 points. Nifty closed at 22,326 points which was 17,359 points a year ago. Nifty's Midcap 100 index was at 30035 a year ago, which has now closed at 48,075 points, that is, a jump of 60 percent has been seen in this index. BSE's Smallcap index has closed at 43,166 points, which was at 26,957 points a year ago. Was. A jump of 60 percent has also been seen in the smallcap index. The biggest rise has been seen in midcap and smallcap stocks during this period.
