Goldman Sachs Report On Affluent India: Foreign investment bank Goldman Sachs has said that 4 percent of India's working population which represents 6 crore consumers, currently stands at 60 million. But by 2027 the population of such consumers is expected to increase to 10 crores. Goldman Sachs said that this estimate is being projected on the basis of tax filing data, bank deposits, credit card and broadband connection data. Goldman Sachs said that while the country's population is increasing at the rate of 1 percent, the number of such consumers has increased at the rate of 12 percent during 2019-23.  

Goldman Sachs has released this report titled The Rise of Affluent India, according to which 4 percent of India's working age population has a per capita income of around $10,000 which projects to 6 crore consumers. We do. But by 2027, the number of such rich people in India will increase to 10 crores. 

The report said that due to the increasing participation of retail investors, the market cap of India's stock market has increased by 80 percent in the last three years. Gold prices have increased by 65 percent during 2020-23. Due to this, Indian investment in shares and gold has increased from $1.8 trillion to $2.7 trillion. According to the report, while property prices had increased by 13 percent in 2015-19, they have increased by 30 percent during 2019-23. 

Goldman Sachs said that the major beneficiaries of this prosperous India will be travel-tourism, jewellery, online food delivery companies providing food outside the home, healthcare and all categories of premium brands. Goldman Sachs has named such stocks which will benefit greatly from the growing affluent and affluent population. 

Goldman Sachs has advised investors to invest in those stocks which are going to benefit greatly from this new rising wealth of people. Goldman Sachs' top ideas include Titan, Apollo, Phoenix, Makemytrip, Zomato, Devyani, Sapphire and Eicher.
