Stock Market Holiday: The consecration of Lord Shri Ram's temple is going to take place on Monday 22 January 2024 in Ayodhya. There will be no trading in the stock market on this day. Holiday has also been declared in the stock market. According to sources, stock market regulator SEBI, BSI and National Stock Exchange have taken this decision after discussing among themselves. There will be no trading in the stock market on January 22.
Maharashtra government has declared 22 January 2024 as a holiday in the state. After which RBI has also said that on January 22, there will be no transaction or settlement in government securities, foreign exchange, money markets and rupee interest rate derivatives in the primary or secondary market. Settlement of all outstanding transactions will now take place on January 23, 2024.
Earlier, the Department of Financial Services under the Finance Ministry had also written a letter to all government banks and government insurance companies on Thursday, January 18, 2024, ordering them to keep their offices closed till 2.30 pm. Central government offices, central institutions along with Central Industrial Institution will also remain closed for half day i.e. till noon.
The Central Government issued a circular saying that the program of Ram Lala Pran Pratishtha is going to be held in Ayodhya on 22 January 2023, which will be celebrated in the country. So that central employees can also celebrate this, it has been decided that all Central Government Offices, Central Institutions and Central Industrial Establishments across the country will remain closed till 2.30 pm.
And now the stock market regulator SEBI along with the stock exchanges has also decided to keep the stock exchanges closed so that the stock traders can watch the program of Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha on Monday 22nd January and celebrate it with pomp. By the way, on Saturday, January 20, 2024, there will be trading in the stock market in two phases for some time.
