Stock market closed with decline in the first session of October, profit booking in energy-banking stocks.

Stock Market Closing On 3 October 2023: The first trading session of October 2023 has been very disappointing for the Indian stock market. This decline has been seen in the market due to selling in energy, banking and auto stocks. Global cues also had pressure on the market. At the end of today’s trading, BSE Sensex closed at 65,512 points with a fall of 316 points. Whereas the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed at 19,528 points with a fall of 110 points. 

State of the sector 

A big decline has been seen in the stocks of energy sector in today’s trade. Apart from this, shares of Auto, Banking, Pharma, FNCG, Metals, Healthcare, Oil and Gas sectors also closed with decline. However, the indices of consumer durables media, real estate and government banks closed in the green. Due to buying in mid cap and small cap stocks, mid cap and small cap indices closed with a rise. Of the 30 Sensex stocks, 12 closed with gains and 18 with losses. Whereas out of 50 shares of Nifty, 13 shares closed with gains and 37 closed with losses.
