NSE Contracts: NSE reduced the contract size of these derivatives including Nifty 50

National Stock Exchange (NSE) has changed the lot size of various derivatives contracts including Nifty50. Under the latest changes, NSE has reduced the size of various derivatives.

Changes in these derivative contracts

NSE gave information about the changes in a circular issued on Tuesday. According to the NSE circular, the lot size of derivative contracts of Nifty 50, Nifty Financial Services and Nifty Midcap Select Indices has been changed. The lot sizes of these three derivatives contracts have now been reduced. Whereas there has been no change in the derivative contract lot size of investors' favorite Nifty Bank.

Now the lot size will be so big

NSE said that the derivative contract of Nifty 50 will now have The lot size will be 25. Till now the lot size was 50. Similarly, in case of Nifty Financial Services, the lot size will be reduced to 25 instead of 40. The lot size for Nifty Midcap Select Index has now been reduced from 75 to 50. The lot size of Nifty Bank will remain 15 as before.

The size will change from April 26

It has been told in the circular that this change is as per the guidelines of SEBI. This periodic revision is in accordance with the guidelines set by SEBI regarding the lot size of contracts for various derivatives. According to the circular, the change in the size of the respective indices will come into effect from April 26. That is, from April 26, the lots of Nifty 50, Nifty Financial Services and Nifty Midcap Select Indices will become smaller.

Changes will be effective from these dates

According to NSE, the weekly lots of Nifty 50, All monthly, quarterly and half-yearly contract expiry will be in new lot size from 26th April. These changes will not be applicable to the April series. The first weekly expiry with the revised lot size will be on May 2, while the first monthly expiry will be on May 30. In case of Nifty Financial Services and Nifty Midcap Select Indices, the changes will not be applicable to the existing monthly and weekly expiry of April, May and June series.
