Infosys Q4 Results: Infosys profits of Rs 7969 crore with a jump of 30%, decline in employee headcount for the first time in 23 years

Infosys Q4 Results: Infosys, the country's second largest IT company, has declared the results for the fourth quarter of the financial year 2023-24. During the January to March quarter, the company's profit stood at Rs 7969 crore, a jump of 30 percent. Infosys had made a profit of Rs 6128 crore in the same quarter of the last financial year 2022-23. Infosys said that the company's revenue from operations in the fourth quarter was Rs 37,923 crore, which was Rs 37,441 crore in the fourth quarter of the last financial year.  

Company declared dividend

In its regulatory filing with the stock exchange, Infosys has estimated revenue growth of 1 to 3 percent in its guidance for the financial year 2024-25. Infosys has announced a dividend of Rs 20 per share for its shareholders for the financial year 23-24. Besides, investors will also be given a special dividend of Rs 8 per share. Infosys' results have been declared after the market closes. Earlier in today's trading, the company's stock closed at Rs 1419.25 with a rise of 0.34 percent. 

Decline in headcount

Infosys said that during the financial year 2023-24, the number of employees i.e. headcount has decreased by 25,994. This is the first time in the last 23 years since 2001 that the number of employees of Infosys has decreased. At the end of the financial year, the total headcount of the company was 317,240, which is 7.5 percent less than the previous financial year. The attrition rate of people leaving the company has come down to 12.6 percent in the fourth quarter, which was 12.9 percent in the previous quarter.
