Brand India: After 'Wed in India' now 'Brand India', know what will be the benefit from it

Brand India: Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a recent program appealed to the affluent class of the country to have their weddings here in India instead of going abroad for destination weddings. This appeal of PM Modi was welcomed all around and the industry has also expressed happiness over it. It is called ‘Wed in India’ The slogan was given. Now similar appeals have started being made from many sectors so that the effect of PM Modi's charisma can also be seen on the companies working in that sector. A similar demand has also come from the tour and travels sector.

Now PM Modi should also start 'Brand India'

Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) has written a letter to PM Modi appealing to start Brand India for the tourism sector. In this he said that the number of people traveling abroad has increased very rapidly. But, there is no significant increase in the number of tourists coming to India from abroad. This remains a challenge for tour operators and travel agents. The PM should bring some special plan to promote the domestic tourism industry. Also, marketing and advertising of Indian tourism should be done abroad.

Only 85.9 lakh foreign tourists came to India in 2022

Recently, Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy had told in the Lok Sabha that only 85.9 lakh foreign tourists came to India in 2022. This figure was 3.14 crore in 2019. From this you can understand what is the current situation of the tourism sector. Therefore, it was necessary to write a letter to PM Modi and inform him about the situation. India is not marketing itself properly in foreign markets, which is a worrying situation.

No spending on marketing and advertising

According to IATO, there are no trained people in the tourism sector in Indian embassies. Also, incentives are not being arranged for foreign tour operators. We should start planning to increase tourists a year in advance. At present, the country should immediately create a National Tourism Board, with the help of which special budget for marketing and advertising can be obtained from the Ministry. Also, we will have to take lessons from other countries and bring liberal visa policy. Air tickets are also very expensive in India. The demand to go to America, Australia and South American countries is very high. But have failed to attract tourists.
