7th Pay Commission: A gift to central employees and pensioners before Holi! Government may announce hike in dearness allowance on Wednesday

7th Pay Commission: Modi Government has given the gift of Holi to the farmers, now it is the turn of Central Government Employees and Pensioners. Prime Minister on Wednesday 1 March 2023 An increase in the dearness allowance of more than one crore government employees and pensioners can be announced in the cabinet meeting to be chaired by Narendra Modi. 

Dearness allowance will be 42 percent!

The central government can increase the dearness allowance (DA) by four percentage points from the existing 38 percent to 42 percent for its more than one crore employees and pensioners. Dearness Allowance for employees and pensioners is calculated on the basis of the Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) released by the Labor Bureau every month. 

The new DA will be applicable from January 1, 2023

Central employees will get relief from inflation 

38 percent dearness allowance is being given to central employees and pensioners. But in view of the backbreaking inflation, if the government increases it by 4 percent to 42 percent, central employees and pensioners will get a big relief from inflation. According to statistics, this decision of the central government will benefit 47 lakh employees and 68 lakh pensioners.
