Preboiled Rice Export Duty: The Central Government has announced some big decisions today which are related to the general public. In this, it has been announced to increase the purchase price of sugarcane by Rs 25 and continue the 20 percent export duty on the export of rice even after March 31, 2024. It has been announced to continue this export duty on the export of uncooked rice or preboiled rice. The Central Government said on Wednesday that 20 percent export duty on the export of rice will continue even after March 31.

When was the export duty imposed on rice

To keep domestic prices under control in the country, 20 percent export duty was imposed on refined rice from August 25, 2023 to October 16, 2023, which was later extended till March 31, 2024. Today the period of this export duty has been extended but no date has been given for how long it will continue, that is, for now it will continue indefinitely.

With ample storage of rice, the government had imposed an additional duty of 20 per cent on the export of preboiled rice to ensure that the domestic prices in the country do not increase or go beyond the limits.

Apart from this, it has been announced that duty free import of yellow peas will continue even after March 31. However, the condition for this is that its bill should have been issued on or before April 30, 2024.
