PhonePe launches Indus App Store, now Made in India App Store will compete with Google Play Store

Indus App Store: Walmart-owned company PhonePe has launched its app store today i.e. on 21st February. The name of this app store is Indus App Store, which was being discussed for the last few months. This is an Android app store made in India, which can directly compete with Google Play Store.

Will Google Play Store be closed?

Let us tell you that last year in September 2023, the company had asked companies to publish their respective apps on this platform. Most Android users in India use Google Play Store to download any app on their phones, but now they will have an additional option. People can now also download Android apps through Indus App Store. 

Let us tell you that the company has played a big bet in the Indian app market by launching Indus App Store, because intelligence firm data.ai. According to data from India, people living in India spent 1.19 trillion hours on mobile apps in 2023, while in 2021, 954 billion hours were spent using mobile apps. This shows how much time Indian smartphone users spend on apps and how fast the amount is increasing. In such a situation, launching this app store by Walmart can prove to be a very profitable business for them.

Specialty of Indus App Store

Regarding Ace App, the company has claimed at the time of launch that more than 2 lakh mobile apps and games have been added to it in 45 different categories. In this app, users will get support of a total of 12 languages ​​including Hindi and English, which also includes many regional languages ​​of India. 

While giving information about Indus App for the first time in September, the company had said that it will be absolutely free for any developers to register their app in this store for the first year. PhonePe co-founder Sameer Nigam had said at that time that developers can use any payment gateway on their platform. The company claims that 24*7 customer care support facility will be available on Indus App Store through email and chatbot.
