Amul Milk Price: The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Limited (GCMMF), which sells milk products under the Amul brand, currently has no plans to increase milk prices. When asked about the price of milk, Jayen Mehta, Managing Director, Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd, said,"Currently we do not plan to increase our prices"

No plans to increase prices of Amul milk – MD

The MD of GCMMF said that the cost price has increased by 15 percent in a year, due to which the union had to increase the retail price slightly last year. At the beginning of the month, the price of Amul milk was increased by Rs 2 per liter in Gujarat. Prior to this, the price of Amul milk was increased by Rs 2 per liter in other states of the country in February.

Amul’s revenue growth estimated at Rs 66,000 crore

Amid rising demand for milk, the company has estimated a 20 per cent increase in revenue for the financial year 2023-24 to Rs 66,000 crore. The company did a turnover of Rs 55,055 crore in the financial year 2022-23, which is 18.5 percent more than a year ago.

GCMMF pays 80 per cent of the retail price to milk producing farmers

GCMMF said that the demand for dairy products had increased significantly in the post-Covid period, which saw a strong increase in the company’s revenue in the last financial year. Jayen Mehta said that the GCMMF did not increase prices in 2020 and 2021 due to the Kovid pandemic, but did increase prices on a few occasions last year.

He said that GCMMF gives about 80 percent of the retail prices to milk producing farmers. They said, "It is expected that the sales of all the products will continue at this pace. Demand is now shifting from unorganized sector to organized companies"
