More than 100 million doses of anti-Kovid-19 vaccine have been given in Pakistan so far

Islamabad, Oct 24 (PTI) More than 100 million doses of Kovid-19 vaccine have been given in Pakistan in nine months. This information came to light from official figures released on Sunday.

According to the Ministry of Health, more than 3.82 crore people have received both doses of vaccine while 6.83 people have received one dose of vaccine. The statement said that 100,016,587 doses of the vaccine have been administered since the start of the vaccination campaign from February 2.

Special Assistant to Health Affairs Dr Faisal Sultan on Saturday thanked the people for their cooperation in making the figure of 10 crores. He said that procuring the vaccine was a huge task and it was done in a very professional manner.

Covax, the international vaccine alliance, has committed to providing free vaccines to 20 percent of its population in Pakistan. Meanwhile, 591 new cases of Kovid-19 have been reported in Pakistan in the last 24 hours, after which the total number of infected people increased to 1,268,536. At the same time, after the death of 18 more people, the death toll increased to 28,377.
