What did Akhilesh and Abu Azmi say?
Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav has supported the ongoing demand from the Jain community. Akhilesh said that a world-wide non-violent demand is being made by the peace-loving Jain community to protest against the BJP’s conspiracy to pollute its supreme pilgrimage Shri Sammed Shikhar ji in the name of tourism. The BJP government is trying to suppress it violently. This is condemnable. We are with the just demand of Jain society.
SP MLA Abu Azmi has said on the movement going on by the Jain community that he will never support the Jain movement. Do they support my demands? Their number is very less as compared to ours. But, when the Paryashan festival of Jain society comes, the governments kneel before them. All the mutton shops are closed. There is talk of closing the slaughterhouses. Will this country run the way the world runs, or why would another Nizam run here?
Raising the question, Abu Azmi said that when DJs play in front of our mosques. Waving saffron flags on the domes of mosques. They are harassed everyday in the name of love jihad. In these matters the Jain community never supported the Muslims. Till today we were not asked. Jain society fought its own battle. If you need support, sit and talk. Why did we become laggards? Relationship goes both ways.
What is the whole matter?
The Hemant Soren government running in Jharkhand has declared Parasnath hill located in Giridih district as a tourist destination. Jain society is protesting against this across the country. The Parasnath hill is famous as Sammed Shikhar, the highest pilgrimage center among the followers of Jainism around the world. Apart from this, the anger of the Jain community is also raging over breaking the feet of Lord Adinath on the Shatrunjaya mountain.
Recently, a delegation of Jain society met President Draupadi Murmu regarding this matter. Apart from this, Maharallies have also been organized in Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad. On this issue, different statements of the National President of Samajwadi Party and the MLA of the party have come to the fore.
