The game of notorious dacoit Gauri Yadav, who has become a headache for the UP and Madhya Pradesh police, is over. STF got a big success in Chitrakoot under the leadership of ADG Amitabh Yash. In Chitrakoot today at 3.30 am, a team of STF had an encounter with Gauri Yadav gang. STF team killed dacoit Gauri Yadav in this encounter. Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh had announced a reward of Rs.5 lakh on Gauri Yadav. STF has recovered many weapons including AK-47 from the spot.
Gauri was a big dacoit after Dadua and Thokia
Gauri Yadav, a dacoit of Dadua and Thokia, had become a big name in the rugged aftermath. Gauri Yadav was running underground for a long time. Four months ago, suddenly it had spread panic by firing in the forests of Chitrakoot. Gauri Yadav, who entered the world of robbery about 20 years ago, formed his own gang in 2005. Gauri Yadav was also arrested in 2009 after Dadua was killed in 2008 and Thokia a few days later. He was later out on bail.

In July this year, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh government had jointly announced a reward of five and a half lakh rupees on the head of absconding dacoit Gauri Yadav of Chitrakoot district. Gauri Yadav had about 50 cases registered against him in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh for murder, kidnapping, ransom and obstructing government work. He was a resident of Belhari village under Bahilpurwa police station area of Chitrakoot district. Several police teams were engaged in search of him.
Three people including the inspector were gunned down
Dacoit Gauri Yadav had killed the inspector who had come from Delhi to investigate the case in May 2013. After this, in May 2016, three villagers were shot and tied to a pole in Gopalganj. After this, the then DGP of Uttar Pradesh, Javed Ahmed had announced a reward of one lakh rupees on Gauri.
