Gradually he became the kingpin of dacoits in the area. It is also said that Gauri Yadav was brought up by the police for their own benefit. Later he became the biggest headache for the police department. Even after lakhs of efforts, the Chitrakoot police could neither eliminate Gauri Yadav nor could catch her.

A STF team had an encounter with Gauri Yadav gang in Chitrakoot at 3.30 am on Saturday. During this, Gauri Yadav was killed by the police. STF has recovered many weapons including AK-47 from the spot.
