Social media giant WhatsApp has given 'Chat Lock' feature to the users in the app some time ago. With the help of this feature, you can lock your secret chats with password. However, even after locking, the problem was that after the chat was locked, a folder appeared at the top of the chat list in which locked chats were written. With this anyone could know that you have locked some chats. To end this problem, after some time WhatsApp introduced another new feature of 'Hide Lock Folder'. Today we are going to tell you about how you can lock as well as hide your secret chats on WhatsApp and access it on the search bar through a code.
Lock any WhatsApp chat like this
To lock WhatsApp chat, first of all go to the app and go to the profile of the person whose chat you want to lock or long click on his name. After going inside the profile, you will get the option of chat lock. As soon as you turn it on, your chat will be locked by fingerprint lock and will go to a separate folder.
Once the chat is locked, when you go to the 'Locked Folder', you will see three dots on the top right corner. Click on it and here you will get the option of hide locked chat. After clicking on this, you will have to enter a password which should be different from your lock screen password so that privacy is maintained. After setting the password, your locked chats will disappear.
How will the missing chats appear again?
To access locked chats, you have to enter the password set by you in the search bar of the app. As soon as you enter the password, you will immediately see the folder of locked chats. With the help of this feature, only you will be able to see your chats and your privacy will be maintained.
Note, you can also use emoji in the password you are entering while hiding chats.
