Khel Ratna to Mithali Raj .. Arjuna Award to Shikhar Dhawan

Indian women’s cricketer Mithali Raj has received the country’s highest sports award, the Major Dhyanchand Khel Ratna award. Mithali Raj received the Khel Ratna at the hands of President Ramnath Kovind at a sports awards function at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. The Khel Ratna award was presented by President Ramnath Kovind to a total of 12 players. Another interesting thing is ..? Mithali is the first woman cricketer to receive the Khel Ratna so far.

The Khel Ratna award was given to 10 Olympic medalists, including Neeraj Chopra, who won gold for India at the Tokyo Olympics. Hockey team captain Manpreet Singh, goalkeeper Sreejesh, wrestler Ravi Dahiya, boxer Lovelina, Paralympic shooter Avani Lekhara, shuttlers Pramod Bhagat, Krishna Nagar, shooter Manish Narwal, Athlete Sumit Antil and other Indian champion teammates were also present on the occasion.

The President presented the Arjuna Award to Team India senior opener Shikhar Dhawan and 34 others at the event. Khel Ratna gets Rs 25 lakh prize, Arjuna Award gets Rs 25 lakh 15 lakh cash prize.
