Imran Khan praised the Afghanistan cricket team, said he has never seen anyone progressing so fast

New Delhi
Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan is quite surprised by the performance of the Afghanistan cricket team. Afghanistan’s team has shown a strong game in the last decade. The team led by Mohammad Nabi did not play the qualifiers in the World Cup. The team had directly reached the Super 12. He started his World Cup T20 2021 campaign with a massive 130-run win over Scotland.

Afghanistan also looked very strong in the match against Pakistan on Friday. It was a tough challenge for Pakistan. In the end, with the help of Asif Ali’s strong innings, Pakistan won the match by five wickets. Imran, who was the captain of Pakistan’s World Cup winning team, also praised the performance of the Pakistani team against Afghanistan.

Asif Ali 4 Sixes in an over

Along with this, Imran also appreciated Afghanistan’s success in international cricket. He said that Afghanistan has a lot of talent and in such a situation, the future of that team is bright.

Khan tweeted, ‘Congratulations to the Pakistan team. Afghanistan also played effective cricket. I have never seen any cricket playing country progressing as fast on the international stage as Afghanistan. He plays very competitive cricket. Considering the competitive spirit and the talent of cricket in the country, it can be said that the future of cricket in Afghanistan is very bright.

After the match, Afghanistan captain Mohammad Nabi admitted that a score of 150 could have put Pakistan in trouble on the slightly slower Dubai pitch. He also praised Asif Ali who helped Pakistan win by hitting Karim Jannat for four sixes in the 19th over.

“We didn’t start well but it was a good score on this pitch. We had talked that 150 would be a good score, so we tried for it. We scored a few runs in the last overs. I think three spinners were enough on this wicket.

Afghanistan will next face Namibia on Sunday. This match will be played in Abu Dhabi. Namibia had defeated Scotland by four wickets in their previous match at the same ground.
