Hope my journey inspires young girls to fulfill their dreams: Mithali

New Delhi, Nov 13 (PTI) Mithali Raj, the first woman cricketer to be honored with the coveted Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award, on Saturday hoped that her achievements will inspire young girls of the country to pursue their dreams.

The 38-year-old veteran of Indian women’s cricket was honored with the country’s highest sports honor Khel Ratna by President Ram Nath Kovind. He is one of the 12 players to have received the award this year.

Mithali wrote on Twitter, “Women in sports are powerful catalysts of change and when they get the appreciation they deserve, it becomes an inspiration to many other women looking to make their dreams come true.” Huh.”

“I sincerely hope that my journey will inspire young girls across the country to pursue their dreams,” said the captain of the Indian women’s Test and ODI team.

Mithali has represented the country in 12 Tests, 220 ODIs and 89 T20 Internationals for the country in a career spanning over two decades.
