Dhoni Winning Six Memorial: World Cup victory made special, Victory Memorial to be built at Wankhede Stadium, MCA’s big decision

Dhoni Winning Six Memorial: 12 years ago today, on 2 April 2011, at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, India won the second ODI Cricket World Cup by defeating Sri Lanka. After 28 years under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, India won the ODI World Cup. No Indian can forget this historical moment. The Mumbai Cricket Association Apex Council has decided to build a small victory memorial at the Wankhede Stadium to commemorate the 2011 World Cup victory.

Vijay Smarak will be built at the place where MS Dhoni’s historic winning six ball fell in the stand. The dream of crores of Indians including master blaster Sachin Tendulkar was fulfilled with Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s winning six in the final match.

Mumbai Cricket Association will honor Dhoni
Mumbai Cricket Association secretary Ajinkya Naik said that on April 8, Chennai Super Kings will face Mumbai Indians during the IPL tournament. He said that on that day former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni would be at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai after a long time. Naik said that the Mumbai Cricket Association would honor Dhoni for his contribution to Indian cricket and for helping India win the World Cup in the 2011 final at the Wankhede Stadium.

Dhoni is an inspiration to crores of Indians
MCA President Amol Kale proposed that a victory memorial should be built at the same place where Dhoni’s winning six ball fell in the 2011 World Cup final. This proposal was supported by Secretary Ajinkya Naik and other members. After which this decision has been taken. MCA Secretary Ajinkya Naik told that Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the inspiration of crores of Indians.

Naik said that the World Cup win is a great achievement and inspires every young cricketer. He told that the purpose behind building the Vijay Memorial is to celebrate the achievement of Indian cricket and to inspire cricketers to give their best for the country. Mahendra Singh Dhoni will also organize a felicitation ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium upon his arrival in Mumbai. Preparations will be made soon for the felicitation ceremony.
