Charismatic spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has given a big statement about Rohit Sharma and his family. He said in an interview given to our associate newspaper ‘Times of India’ that he and Rohit Sharma’s relationship is like a brother. Rohit Sharma’s wife Ritika considers him as his younger brother. Chahal’s statement has come after Rohit Sharma has been made the captain of the Indian T20 International team and he has returned to Team India for the series against New Zealand.
He has recalled an incident from the ODI World Cup 2019. He said, ‘Like in the 2019 World Cup, we gave Kuldeep Yadav an over in front of Babar Azam on a special occasion and we got a wicket. Our relationship goes beyond cricket. When you put so much trust in someone, its effect is visible on the field as well. It always feels good that if I share something with them I always get positive feedback and atmosphere.
It is noteworthy that Yuzvendra Chahal was not selected in the T20 World Cup squad. Rahul Chahar was included in his place. Many veterans had raised questions on this selection.
The 16-man Indian squad for the T20I series against New Zealand is as follows:
Rohit Sharma (capt), KL Rahul, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (wk), Ishan Kishan (wk), Venkatesh Iyer, Yuzvendra Chahal, R Ashwin, Axar Patel, Avesh Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Deepak Chahar , Harshal Patel and Mohammad Siraj.
