Lawyer shot dead in Noida, 25 thousand rupees reward on main accused

Noida, Oct 26 (PTI) Police have put a reward of Rs 25,000 on the arrest of Sandeep, his cousin and prime accused, in connection with the shooting dead of a lawyer in Noida’s Ilabas village.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone II) Harish Chander said on Tuesday that advocate Nishant Pilwan (28), a resident of Ilabas village in Police Station Phase-II area, was shot at his house on Monday night. Nishant was admitted to a hospital for treatment in critical condition, where doctors declared him brought dead.

The DCP said that in this case, the family of the deceased, Prem Singh, has registered a case in Police Station Phase-2, nominating unknown people.

He said that four police teams have been formed to unearth the matter.

He told that during the investigation, the police came to know that Nishant had a dispute with some people regarding the land.

The officer said that during the investigation, the police came to know that the deceased’s cousin Sandeep had carried out the incident. He said that a reward of Rs 25,000 has been announced for his arrest.

At the same time, the district Gautam Buddha Nagar Bar Association has expressed anger over the murder of the lawyer. The members of the Bar Association organized a condolence meeting in the court premises on Tuesday and boycotted the work. Advocates Bar Association president Manoj Bhati said that the lawyers will protest in this matter if the accused are not arrested soon.
