Shirdi Accident: Couple going to Shirdi to celebrate new year dies, six-year-old daughter narrowly survives

Bhiwandi: A couple going from Bhandup in Mumbai to Shirdi to visit Shirdi on a motorcycle to celebrate New Year died in a road accident after colliding with a container. His six-year-old daughter narrowly survived the accident on the Mumbai-Nashik highway. The police have taken the container driver Kapil Dev into custody. A case has been registered against the container driver on the complaint of Vikrant Payre, a neighbor of deceased Manoj Joshi.

Manoj Joshi (36) and Mansi Joshi (34) of Tanajiwadi, Tembhipada, Bhandup West, along with their daughter Mrinmoyee Joshi (6) had left for Saibaba on Friday morning. Some of his other companions were also going to visit. They had reached between Yevai to Vadapa in Bhiwandi taluka police station area when a speeding container towards Nashik ran them over. Manoj Joshi and Mansi Joshi died on the spot in this accident.

His daughter Mrinmoyee Joshi, who was sitting in the middle of the bike, fell on the opposite side of the container. This saved his life. The police have taken the container driver Kapil Dev into custody. A case has been registered against the container driver on the complaint of Vikrant Payre, a neighbor of deceased Manoj Joshi.
