‘Bookie’ pleads for bail citing daughter, court rejects application, know the update of Amrita Fadnavis bribery case

Opposing the bail plea, Special Public Prosecutor Ajay Misar had said that the entire conspiracy was hatched for Anil Jaisinghani. Amruta Fadnavis, in her complaint, had claimed that Aniksha had offered her a bribe to intervene in the cases filed against her father. The Special Public Prosecutor submitted that the role of the petitioner needs to be probed. He said that it cannot be said that since an accused has been granted bail, he should also be released on bail.

This argument opposed the bail
The prosecution argued that the accused is absconding in several offenses registered against him, therefore his propensity also needs to be considered. On Anil Jaisinghani’s health, the Special Public Prosecutor said that his medical examination report shows that his health is fine. After hearing the arguments of both the sides, Additional Sessions Judge D D Almale rejected the bail application of Anil Jaisinghani. However, he accepted the bail application of Nirmal Jaisinghani, another accused in the case.

An FIR was registered against Anil Jaisinghani and his daughter Aniksha on February 20 at the Malabar Hill police station in south Mumbai for allegedly threatening to make some audio and video clips public. In these audio and video clips, Amruta Fadnavis can be seen and heard allegedly demanding bribe from Aniksha.
