Mouth Health: Your mouth tells about your health, here's how!

Mouth Health: It is said that if the mouth is good.. the city will be good. Also, if our mouth is good, our health is also good. So what do you think is the link between mouth and health? Here.. if you know these things you will be open mouthed.

Usually when we go to doctors they tell us to open our tongue. After that, a torch light is inserted into the throat. Many people do not know why they look like that. But the mouth is the only measure of a man's health. Doctors assess the condition of health in the same way as they tell the disease by looking at the tongue. How is that possible? How can health be assessed by looking at the mouth?

Tooth decay:

Everybody faces the problem of tooth decay at some point in life. Bacteria living in our mouth secrete acids. It damages the enamel surface of the teeth. This creates cavities. If cavities are left untreated, bacteria can attack the soft dentin beneath the enamel. This infects the inside of the teeth. Teeth become discolored and sensitive to heat and cold. Moreover, bad breath comes from the mouth. Bacteria in the mouth can cause many diseases like dementia, gastritis, kidney failure. 

Gum Disease:

Gum disease starts with inflammation of the gums. Bleeding gums. Bacteria build up at the base of the tooth causing inflammation. If left untreated, the disease can progress to periodontitis. This can lead to a serious gum infection that destroys the gum tissue and the bone that supports the teeth.

Temporomandibular disorder:

Temporomandibular joint disorder is a disorder of the jaw joint. . It is very painful.It connects the lower jaw bone to the skull. Things like chewing, swallowing, talking and yawning are very difficult.  Symptoms include jaw pain, difficulty opening or closing the mouth, and noise during jaw movement. 

Bad breath:

1920's Listerine Bad breath is brought to light through a marketing campaign. It encourages mouth washing. This is called halitosis. Bad breath or halitosis can be caused by tonsils, tooth decay, gum disease, sinus infections. But it can also indicate more serious conditions like diabetes, lung cancer, cystic fibrosis.

Dry mouth:

Dry mouth can be caused by  xerostomia medications that reduce the flow of saliva. As a result, the salivary glands are damaged due to nasal congestion. Then the  dry mouth develops. It causes discomfort, reduces the ability to taste. Difficulty speaking and swallowing. Also tooth decay, fungal infection‌

Oral Cancer:

Oral cancer is the eighth most common cancer in men, affecting nearly 200,000 people worldwide each year, along with tobacco and alcohol use.  associated with human papilloma virus (HPV). Bleeding teeth, difficulty in swallowing, weight loss are symptoms of oral cancer.
