Compromise on seats in SP-RLD alliance is not easy, this challenge in front of Akhilesh-Jayant in civic elections

The seat-sharing between the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) is a major challenge even after the commitment to maintain the alliance in the municipal elections in UP. Contenders of both the parties are face to face in many districts of western UP for the post of Mayor in Municipal Corporation and Chairman in Municipal Council and Municipalities. In such a situation, both the parties are sweating in making one of the candidates. Now it has to be seen how Akhilesh Yadav and Jayant Chaudhary reconcile?

Both do not want to allow any rift in the alliance till the Lok Sabha elections. Then both the parties are also seeing political benefit in fighting the civic body together. The only problem now is that both the parties are finding it difficult to control their leaders with political ambitions. In view of the preparations for coming face to face with the contenders in the elections, both the parties on Sunday expressed their intention to contest the elections together.

RLD state president Ramashish Rai said on Sunday that RLD and SP are determined to contest the municipal elections on the basis of alliance. RLD is collecting the application forms of the winning candidates from all the districts. The final decision will be taken in consultation with the election committee nominated by National President Chaudhary Jayant Singh. He said that the national president has formed a committee under the leadership of former MLA Rao Waris Khan for talks with SP regarding seats. The civic body will fight with the RLD alliance in the entire state. This alliance will eliminate BJP from the power of urban bodies.
