Bihar government has made a provision of Rs 16323.83 crore for the Home Department in the budget presented for the new financial year 2024-25. This is 5.86 percent of the total budget amount. However, Rs 15468.55 crore will be spent on the establishment of the Home Department. This year, policemen are going to be appointed to 67735 posts under the Home Department. There is a provision of Rs 674 crore in the budget presented by the Excise, Prohibition and Registration Department. There is also discussion of establishment of 74 special courts. The annual target of the Registration Department was set at Rs 5500 crore for the year 2022-23, in which 119 percent more revenue of Rs 6583 crore was collected.

– Budget of Home Department is Rs 16 thousand 323 crore, Rs 855 crore is allocated in the scheme and Rs 15,468 crore is allocated in the head of establishment and committed expenditure.
– The process of reinstatement of 67 thousand 735 police personnel on various posts will be started. The post has been created.
– In the first phase, there will be restoration on 24269 posts, which includes 2 thousand posts of Inspector, 19469 posts of constable and 2800 posts of driver.
– There will be restoration on 88 posts in Bihar Fire Service. This includes 21 posts of Assistant Divisional Fire Officer, 19 of District Fire Officer, 53 of Sub-Divisional Fire Officer and 88 posts of Fire Officer.

– Traffic system is being managed with the help of 1 thousand 527 high capacity cameras by stopping manual challan from 1st November 2023.
– Appointment to 541 posts of Assistant Prosecution Officer in the Prosecution Directorate is under process.
– 300 crores received for the construction of office buildings of police officers in police stations or OPs and districts.
– Rs 150 crore approved for installation of CCTV cameras under Safe City Surveillance
– Rs 20 crore approved for crime and criminal tracking network and system.
– Rs 16 crore released for 34 additional prison cells in 16 prisons for the renovation of jails.
– A total provision of Rs 674 crore has been made in the budget including Rs 10 crore and Rs 664 crore under establishment and committed expenditure head.
– 84 prohibition police stations have been established in the state. 74 special courts have been established to execute the cases registered in them.
