Assistant Professor Recruitment 2024: The ongoing teacher recruitment process in Allahabad University and affiliated colleges has been postponed till further orders. In this regard, Registrar of Allahabad University, Prof. NK Shukla has issued the notification. At the same time, ADC has also put a stop to the proposed interview for teacher recruitment, while a decision has not yet been taken on the recruitment process for nine posts of Assistant Professor in Arya Kanya Girls Degree College.
The proposed interview from February 6 to 10 for teacher recruitment in the Department of Philosophy and Institute of Gandhi and Peace Studies of Allahabad University has been postponed till further orders. This interview was to be held in the guest house of Allahabad University from 9 am. Recently, Allahabad High Court has said in an important order that the candidates involved in the appointment of Assistant Professor are entitled to get the benefit of educational experience. It is not appropriate to deny them the benefit of educational experience on the basis of Section 10 (f) (3) of the UGC Regulation. Along with this, the court asked Allahabad University to give the benefit of educational experience under Table 3A (7) of the UGC Regulation while shortlisting the candidates for interview in future appointments. This order has been given by the division bench of Justice Ashwini Kumar Mishra and Justice Ashutosh Srivastava while hearing the petitions of dozens of candidates including Geetanjali Tiwari.
Due to this order of the court, Allahabad University and ADC have postponed the proposed interview for teacher recruitment. Principal of ADC Prof. Atul Kumar Singh said that in view of the case of dozens of candidates including Geetajanli Tiwari, the selection process has been postponed till further orders. Recruitment is to be done on 132 posts of Assistant Professor in respect of 24 subjects in the college. Out of these, the recruitment process of ten subjects has been completed. Currently interviews are to be held for 14 subjects. The interview for Computer Science, Economics, English and Urdu subjects was proposed between 20th to 31st January. It has been postponed. On the other hand, Principal of Arya Kanya Degree College, Prof. Archana Pathak told that recruitment is to be done on nine posts of Assistant Professor. No decision has been taken yet regarding the interview.
Teacher recruitment will be done on 342 posts
Online applications were taken for teacher recruitment to 342 posts in Allahabad University from December 12, 2023 to January 2, 2024. This recruitment includes 147 posts in 42 subjects of Assistant Professor, 130 posts in 39 subjects of Associate Professor and 65 posts in 33 subjects of Professor. 82 backlog posts of SC-ST and OBC have also been included in this recruitment. Against 342 seats for teachers (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor), approximately nine and a half thousand have applied.
