UGC: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has provided relief to students studying in Higher Educational Institutes (HEIs) who have taken admission from one institute to another. UGC has instructed Higher Educational Institutes to refund the fees of those students who have taken admission in some other institute. UGC has given these instructions by issuing an official notification. Let us know, what is the whole matter.

Let us tell you, UGC was continuously receiving complaints against Higher Educational Institutes (HEIs) for not refunding the fees of students for a long time. After which, giving relief to the students, UGC mailed to all the Higher Educational Institutes and also requested through reminder that they should refund the fees of all those students who have migrated to other institutions.

Along with this, it is further written in the notification, if there is delay or refusal in paying the fees, action will be taken against them. HEIs are advised to pay special attention to refund of fees to students and follow UGC guidelines regarding refund of fees to students, so that the students can utilize the money from the refunded fees.

“Furthermore, the UGC (Redressal of Students' Grievances) Regulations, 2023 read that if the admission fees are not refunded within time, students can complain.
