Suicide in Kota:A National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) student from Uttar Pradesh has committed suicide in Kota, Rajasthan. Officials said that the student has been identified as Uruj, who was a resident of Samdhan village in Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh. According to the report of news agency IANS, the age of the student is said to be 20 years, who was living in Kota, Rajasthan since last year and was preparing for the medical entrance examination from a coaching institute. This is the sixth case of suicide in Kota in the year 2024. That means, so far in three months, 6 students have committed suicide. Let us tell you, last year about 28 students committed suicide in Kota and in the year 2022 about 15 students committed suicide.
According to Rajasthan Police data, there were 18 suicide cases in the year 2019, 20 suicide cases in 2018, 7 in 2017, 17 in 2016 and 18 suicide cases in 2015. However, no student suicide was reported in Kota in 2020 and 2021 as coaching institutes were closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Student Uruj's family called him repeatedly on Tuesday, but he did not respond. After this, they called his friends living in Jawahar Nagar area, after which the friends reached his building where Uruj lived. After which friends informed the landlord about the student not picking up the phone. A guard went to the student's room and when he did not respond they immediately called the police. The police reached the building and broke the door. After which the students were stunned by what they saw. Uruj's body was found hanging from the fan. Vigyan Nagar police officials said that the student had achieved average marks in studies, after which he took this step.
