MNNIT: Aryan of Meerut and Palak of Prayagraj will get Institute Medal for best performance in BTech

MNNIT’s 19th convocation will be held on Saturday. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will be the chief guest. Padmashree (Dr) Vinod Kumar Singh and IIT Kanpur Department of Chemistry Rahul and Nanita Gautam will attend as special guests. Aryan Mittal of Computer Science (CS) and Palak Mishra of Electronics & Communication will be awarded the Institute Medal for best performance in B.Tech. This time two meritorious students will be awarded the Institute Medal. Aryan is from Meerut while Palak is from Salori in Prayagraj. This information was given by Director Prof. RS Verma gave in the press conference on Thursday.

Degrees will be awarded to 1603 students

Pro. RS Verma said that a total of 1603 degrees will be awarded in the ceremony. Of these, 304 girl students will be awarded degrees. The degrees will be awarded to 919 BTech, 436 MTech, 99 MCA, 45 MBA, 22 MSc and 82 PhD holders. 33 gold medals will be awarded to postgraduate students and 16 gold medals to undergraduate students. In addition to these gold medals, 13 sponsored gold medals by faculty alumni and industry will be awarded to students for their outstanding performance.

Degree will be awarded to 65 foreign students

The convocation will also award degrees to 59 foreign students admitted through DASA and six foreign students admitted through the Indian Council for Cultural Relations.

Om Vijay Gupta (Electronics & Communication Engineering IIIrd Year), Divyanshu Agarwal (Electronics & Communication Engg. IInd Year) Abhinav Goyal (Computer Science & Engineering IInd Year) and Ardhdeep Ambar Chakravati (Chemical Engg. IInd Year), Vaibhav Kansal (Ist Year) Computer Science and Engineering) will also be awarded the Institute Gold Medal.

Institute filed 18 new patents

Prof. Verma informed that a Technology Business Incubator sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology has been established in the institute. Six patents have been granted and 18 new patents have been filed during the last two years. A new Boys Hostel with a capacity of 1090 and a multi-storey Faculty Apartment project is nearing completion. The construction of new academic block has been approved by the competent authority and the lecture hall complex project is also in progress. An outlet of Apollo Pharmacy has also been opened in the Institute Health Center for the benefit of all faculty, staff and students.
