He passed the UPSC exam with 94th rank in his first attempt. In the year 2021, she became an IFS officer at the age of 23 and was allotted home cadre i.e. West Bengal cadre.

Tamali has cracked the UPSC exam without any coaching. He believes that, if someone thinks that he can clear the exam with the help of self study, then he should listen to his heart and have faith in himself.
