Its decision will depend on the applications made by the students. UGC Chairman M Jagadish Kumar has said that if we look at the applications for two years, the examinations of 12 to 15 subjects can be conducted offline. These science subjects include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and Computer Science. Whereas Arts includes subjects like History, Political Science and Commerce includes subjects like Business Studies, Accounts. Languages include English and Hindi. More applications come in all these subjects. For this reason, offline examination in these subjects can be conducted in one day only.

In the subjects for which there will be offline examination, the process of normalization will not have to be adopted. Centers can be set up in schools and colleges for offline examinations and due to this, students from far-flung areas will not have to travel far for the examination.

The final datesheet for the examination will be released after the announcement of Lok Sabha election dates. National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the examination in offline i.e. pen and pencil pattern for those subjects in which there are a lot of applications.
