TCS CEO Krithivasan: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has made its plans clear regarding hiring. Company CEO K Krithivasan has said that the company will need more people. Therefore, the IT company will provide many jobs this year also. With this stance of the IT sector giant, the clouds of fear of global recession on jobs seem to be dissipating. 

Demand expected to increase in IT sector 

TCS CEO Kritivasan said in a Nasscom program that the company is not planning to cut hiring. Our plan is to connect as many people as possible with us. There is every expectation of increase in demand in the IT sector. He said that the economy is booming. We see a ray of hope for the IT sector in this also. If the work increases then the need for people will also increase. In such a situation, instead of reducing jobs, the company is ready to provide more and more new jobs. We have been providing many jobs earlier also. It is possible that the time of giving jobs may change but the hiring will continue. 

Companies are staying away from campus placements 

TCS is the largest software company in the country. It is also number one in terms of revenue, profit and work force. More than 6 lakh employees work in the company all over the world. This statement of TCS CEO Kritivasan has come at a time when news of layoffs are coming from every sector. There is laziness in the market regarding new jobs also. Some media reports have claimed that some companies have decided not to participate in campus placements this year.

60 thousand jobs found in IT industry

Software industry body NASSCOM had recently said that about 60 thousand new jobs have been created in the IT sector in the financial year 2023-24. This figure is much less than the financial year 2022-23. At present about 5.43 lakh people are working in the IT industry. Kritivasan said that there are more than 2 lakh women employees in TCS. This figure is 35.7 percent of the total workforce of the company.
