Share Market Opening 2 March: Special trading is taking place in the domestic stock market today on Saturday. Tremendous momentum was seen in the market which is usually closed on Saturdays as soon as it opened today. The sequence of tremendous rally that took place in the market a day ago seems to be continuing even today. As soon as trading started in the market, the Sensex jumped by more than 14 hundred points.
Indications before the market opened
The market was showing signs of great bullishness from the very beginning. While BSE's 30-share index Sensex was up by more than 1500 points in the pre-open session, NSE's Nifty50 index was up by more than 2 percent. In GIFT City, Nifty futures had crossed 22,510 points with a premium of more than 60 points.
Sensex-Nifty at new record
As soon as trading started in the market. , both the major indices made huge jumps. At 9.25 am, the Sensex was trading near 73,830 points with a gain of 1,328 points (1.83 percent). Nifty jumped 390 points (1.77 percent) to 22,372 points. Both the indices have managed to touch their respective new historical highs in today's special trading.
Rally after GDP data
Earlier on Friday, after the excellent GDP figures. The market had made a tremendous jump. On Friday, the Sensex closed at 73,745.35 points with a rise of 1,245.05 points or 1.72 percent. At the same time, Nifty jumped by 355.95 points or 1.62 percent and stood at 22,338.75 points.
Testing of disaster recovery site
Domestic stock markets are generally closed on Saturday. However, this is the second time in a span of few days, when the market is open on Saturday also. Today a special live trading session is taking place in the market. This trading is being done through disaster recovery site. The disaster recovery site is designed to keep the market running smoothly even in the event of an emergency. For its testing, trading is going on in both equity and derivative segments.
Two sessions of trading in the market today
There are going to be two sessions in the market in special trading. The first session has started at 9.15 am. The timing of the first session is till 10 o'clock. After that, the market will open again at 11:30 am for the second session, which will continue till 12:30 pm.
The market was open on Saturday in January also
Before this, disaster recovery. The time for testing the site was fixed for January 20. 20th January was also falling on Saturday. However, on 22nd January i.e. next Monday in Ayodhya
