The issue of Pakistan is to be discussed on the last day in which preparations have been made to potentially give final approval to the next tranche of US $ 700 million under the 'Stand-By Arrangement' (SBA) of US $ 3 billion.
Pak is yet to get 1.8 billion US dollars under IMF's relief program
The current relief program of IMF may end in the second week of April. Its total amount is three billion US dollars. Of this, about US $ 1.8 billion is left because the first installment of $ 1.2 billion was released to Pakistan in July 2023. A staff-level agreement was reached between IMF staff and Pakistani officials regarding the first review under Pakistan's SBA in November 2023.
