White Collar Jobs Hiring in 2023: It has become difficult to get a white collar job in the year 2023. According to the report published in Economic Times, online job platform Naukri.com has collected data on hiring of white collar jobs in the country. According to this, in India In the year 2023, there has been a decline of 6 percent in the hiring of white collar jobs and jobs have decreased in sectors like IT, retail, BPO, education, FMCG, healthcare.

The number of white collar jobs has declined due to the global economic crisis and geopolitical uncertainties. However, despite these global uncertainties, tremendous growth has been recorded in the sectors of infrastructure, oil and gas, real estate, power, travel etc. and its impact is visible on the hiring figures. In all these sectors, new recruitments have been made in double digits in 2023.

How will the situation be in 2024?

Talking to the Economic Times about white collar jobs, Madan Sabnavis, Chief Economist of Bank of Baroda, said that there may be an increase in the number of white collar jobs next year, but companies will make new recruitments only with utmost caution. Along with this, skill shortage due to less recruitment, better business growth and GDP figures will lead to increase in the number of white collar jobs in the country in 2023. More caution will be exercised in the hiring process in BFSI and FMCG companies.

How will be the condition of IT sector?

According to data from Naukri.com, 2023 has not proved to be very good for the IT sector as a huge decline of 29 percent has been recorded in recruitments this year. Whereas in the year 2022, an increase of 7 percent was recorded in hiring in the IT sector. Recruitments like campus placement, Gig hiring are not included in this data.

Expect more jobs in these areas in 2024 –

According to the data of Naukri.com, while there may be a decline in hiring in the IT sector in the new year, there may be an increase in the number of jobs in the fields of aviation, telecom, logistics, hospitality. A decline in new recruitments has been seen in Delhi/NCR, Chennai, Bengaluru and Kolkata, while the number of jobs has increased in Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Jaipur.
