Greta Electric Scooters, a Gujarat-based electric vehicle startup, has launched four new e-scooters in India. It has become the latest company to enter the fast growing electric vehicle market in the country. The four scooters are the Harper, Evespa, Glide and Harper ZX. They range in price from Rs 60,000 to Rs 92,000. The company said it had received approval for its electric scooters from the International Center for Automotive Technology (ICAT) in late 2019. Although these electric vehicles were supposed to launch sometime, they were delayed due to coronavirus.
These Greta electric scooters use a 48-volt or 60-volt lithium-ion battery. There are four battery options available to consumers. Away V2 (Lithium + 48V), V2+ (Lithium + 60V), V3 (Lithium + 48V) and V3+ (Lithium + 60V). These scooters offer a riding range of 70 km to 100 km on a single charge. It takes up to four hours to fully charge the battery. However, the glide dual disc has hydraulic brakes. Features include keyless start, smart shift, digital instrument cluster display, reverse mode, ATA system, anti-theft alarm.
Greta Electric Scooters Founder and Managing Director Raj Mehta , "We are very pleased with the response to the market for Greta electric scooters. Many people are showing interest in these not only from the domestic market but also from the international market. After getting permission from the Ministry of Road Transport of Nepal, we also opened two showrooms there. Currently, the lineup of Greta electric scooters is in advanced trials in Europe. Legal approvals will also come soon. If that happens, we may soon see Greta on European roads as well." Said.
