DA Hike: Another state increased DA, know how many states have got the benefit so far

Holi Gift To Employees: As elections approach, many state governments have increased DA. Now Karnataka has also announced to increase DA (DA Hike). State Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has increased DA by about 4 percent while giving Holi gift to employees and pensioners. Now employees and pensioners in the state will get 42.5 percent DA of basic pay. Till now 38.75 percent DA was being given in Karnataka. This decision will be considered effective from January 1, 2024. This decision will put an additional burden of approximately Rs 1792.71 crore on the state government's treasury.

Yogi government has also announced 

Karnataka government last increased DA in October, 2023. It was increased from 35 percent to 38.75 percent. Recently Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath had also increased DA by 4 percent. Besides, 4 percent DA relief was also given. This decision will benefit about 10 lakh employees, 12 lakh pensioners and 8 lakh teachers.  First of all the Central Government had increased the DA. Since then, many states have announced increase in DA.

DA has increased in Gujarat and Uttarakhand 

Last week Gujarat Government had also announced increase in DA. The state government had increased DA by 4 percent before Holi. Apart from this, the government had also increased the stake in NPS by 4 percent. Now DA in Gujarat has become 46 percent of the basic salary. This decision will be considered effective from January 1. In January this year, Uttarakhand Government had increased DA by 4 percent. DA in the state has now increased to 46 percent. The state government had said that the revised DA will be considered effective from July 1, 2023. upcoming In view of the Lok Sabha elections, it is expected that other states may also announce increase in DA soon.
