Adani Group: Adani Group will make ammunition for the army, a mega factory worth Rs 3000 crore will be set up.

Adani Defense & Aerospace: Adani Group, owned by Gautam Adani, has made a big announcement in the defense sector. Adani Group will set up two arms factories with an investment of Rs 3000 crore. These factories will be built in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Ammunition will be made here. About 15 crore ammunition can be manufactured annually in these factories, which is about one fourth of the total requirement of the Indian Army. This will promote local manufacturing of arms and ammunition in the country.

Factories will be set up near Kanpur

Adani Defense & Aerospace will build these factories on about 500 acres near Kanpur. Gautam Adani's son Karan Adani said on Monday that these factories will play an important role in meeting the needs of the Indian Army. Small, medium and large caliber ammunition can be made in these. These will be supplied to the army, para military and police. Karan Adani looks after the defense business.

4000 jobs will be created

He said that with the help of these factories, about 4000 jobs will be created. By the year 2025, 2 lakh rounds of large caliber artillery and tank shells can be manufactured here. Also, 50 lakh rounds of medium caliber shells can be made. Short range and long range missiles can be made here. Adani Defense previously manufactured drones, anti-drone systems, light machine guns, assault rifles and pistols.

Aim to be self-reliant in defense sector

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a target of being self-reliant in the defense sector. The central government is continuously making efforts to reduce imports in the defense sector. For this, avenues have been opened for business worth billions of dollars in the defense sector. Adani Group, Tata Group, Larsen & Toubro and Mahindra Group are working rapidly to meet the needs of the Indian Army. Karan Adani, Chief Executive Director of Adani Ports and SEZ Limited, said that due to foreign dependence in the defense sector, the needs of the Indian Army are not met on time. Besides, economic opportunities are also less.
