Ganja worth Rs 2 crore seized in Hyderabad, three people arrested

Hyderabad, Nov 15 (PTI) Three drug smugglers were arrested on Monday after confiscating 1,240 kg of ganja in Telangana capital Hyderabad. The value of the seized ganja is said to be around Rs 2.08 crore. police gave this information.

Based on specific information, police raided an automobile garage in Medipally here and seized ganja, Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat said. This huge consignment of ganja was brought here from the Sileru Agency area of ​​Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh, which was kept to be taken to Mumbai.

Police have arrested three smugglers in this connection after confiscating 1,240 kg of ganja. Three vehicles have also been seized from them. Three people, including the main accused of this gang, managed to escape during the raid.

According to the police, the accused used to buy ganja at the rate of Rs 8,000 per kg from smugglers in the Sileru Agency area of ​​Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh and kept it in the garage of the car. After this they used to sell it to their customers at a price of Rs 15,000 per kg. All the accused were active in this illegal business for the past one year.
