Suicide of intern doctor of Rajkot Civil Hospital, body found in hostel

Rajkot: Police on Saturday evening found the body of a second-year MBBS student in a suicidal condition in a room of the PDU Medical College hostel in Rajkot. The student was living alone in a hostel on Jamtawar Road. Police believe that he may have shortened his life two-three days ago. Because, an investigation was carried out into the stench coming from the room. In which his body was found opening the door of the room.

During the investigation, the deceased youth Amrut Ghanshyam Chaudhary was found to be a native of Radhanpur. The hostel staff knocked on the door but no one opened it. They then approached a higher official and sought permission to open the door and found Ghanshyam Chaudhary’s body. The frightened people immediately informed the Pradyumna Nagar police station.

Police believe that Chaudhry may have committed suicide himself. Sources, on the other hand, claimed that Chaudhry was under stress due to the study and that he may have taken the step because of it.

“We have found the body in a decomposed state and we believe he may have committed suicide two-three days ago,” K A Wala, the police inspector in charge, told our correspondent Times of India. He doesn’t seem skeptical since he lives alone. The entire incident has been reported to the family of the deceased.

According to the information received, the police reached the hostel on learning of the incident and sent the body of Ghanshyam Chaudhary for postmortem. Police are then recording statements from his friends, colleagues, hostel staff and teachers. Police will also record the statements of his family members. According to media reports, the deceased was identified as an intern doctor at Rajkot Civil Hospital.
