History of World Diabetes Day

The International Diabetes Federation and the World Health Organization (WHO) started celebrating this day with the aim of spreading awareness about diabetes among the people. November 14, 1922 is the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, the scientist who discovered insulin. Insulin plays a huge role in keeping the amount of sugar in the body right.
