This study revealed that it increases mental health and suicide risk in women with PCOS. 

Study on 19 thousand people

Taipei Veterans General in Taiwan for this study. Hospital researchers studied nearly 19,000 women aged 12 to 64 with PCOS between 1997 and 2012. Age, income, physical and mental health conditions also play a role. According to this, the risk of suicide attempts was 9.15 times higher in women with PCOS under 40 years of age and 3.75 times higher in elderly women. Researchers have said that the effect of PCOS symptoms on the elderly is less.
