Superbug: 2023 year of danger? Scientists lost sleep, fear of death due to superbug after Corona!

[

Superbug: For the past two years, Corona has spread throughout the world. Although the severity of the Corona pandemic has decreased, the fear remains. The concern of many countries has increased due to the new variant of Corona.  On the other hand, the concern of the world has increased due to the superbug spreading widely in America.

Superbugs have posed a major challenge to scientists for some time now. Corona infection is increasing the threat of this superbug. The medical journal Lancet has drawn attention to the great danger of this superbug. A research paper in Lancet fears that if the superbug continues to spread rapidly, it could kill a million people every year. Currently, an average of 13 lakh people die every year due to this superbug. Superbugs are also unaffected by antibiotics and antifungal drugs. So the discussion has started whether this superbug is a new threat to the world.

What is a superbug? (What is Superbug)

A superbug is a type of bacteria. Some bacteria are good for humans. So, some are dangerous to human life. This superbug is deadly to humans. A superbug is a type of virus and parasite. When bacteria, viruses, fungi or parasites change, they are not affected by drugs.

Treatment of these infections becomes more difficult once antimicrobial resistance develops. This means that drugs used to treat superbugs in a patient’s body are ineffective.

Superbugs are produced due to overuse of any antibiotic or unnecessary use of antibiotics. According to doctors, superbugs are more likely to occur when antibiotics are taken in cases of viral infections such as the flu. It is likely to infect others.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, carbapenem drugs used to treat pneumonia and septicemia in India have now become ineffective against the bacteria. So the manufacture of these drugs was banned.

How does this dangerous bug spread?

Superbugs are spread from person to person through skin contact, wounds, saliva and sex. Once the superbug enters the human body, the drugs stop having an effect on the patient. There is currently no medicine available on Superbug.

The Lancet has studied the superbug deaths a few days ago during the Corona epidemic. According to the report, in 2021, ICMR conducted a study in 10 hospitals and found that people have increased the use of antibiotics after Corona. More than 50 percent of the Covid patients who contracted the corona virus contracted the virus,  fungi, during or after treatment and died. According to this study, if the use of antibiotics in the world continues to increase at this rate, it may be an alarm bell.
