International Day Of Happiness: Why is International Day of Happiness celebrated?  What is its significance?

International Day of Happiness is celebrated on March 20 every year. ‘happiness’ Today's purpose is to know the value of (happiness) and create awareness about it. The United Nations General Assembly adopted the resolution on 12 July 2012. March 20 has been declared as the International Day of Happiness. In 2013, 193 member states of the United Nations celebrated the first International Day of Happiness.

Since 2013, the United Nations has announced the celebration of 'International Day of Happiness' as a way to recognize the importance of happiness in people's lives around the world. The day was also established to recognize the need for a more inclusive, equitable and balanced approach to economic growth that promotes the lives of people around the world, the importance of their recognition in government policy objectives, sustainable development, poverty eradication, happiness and prosperity. In 2015, the United Nations launched 17 Sustainable Development Goals. It seeks to end poverty and reduce inequality.

In July 2012, the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution declaring March 20 as the International Day of Happiness. This year International Day of Happiness will be celebrated with the theme 'Be Mindful, Be Great, Be Kind'.

How to celebrate International Day of Happiness?

1. Walk in nature

Go for a walk in a park or any forest and enjoy the beauty of nature. Take some time for yourself to find peace and appreciate the beauty of the world around you.

2. Listen to uplifting music 

Make a playlist of your favorite uplifting songs and listen to them on International Day of Happiness. It's a great way to boost your spirits and share some happiness.

3. Help those in need

Volunteer at a local charity or help the elderly in the neighborhood. Doing something good for others.. helps spread happiness and make the world a better place.

4. Spend time with family and friends

Get your family and friends together. Spend some quality time together. Enjoy their presence, share a chat. Make memories that will last a lifetime. 

5. Do something fun

Plan a game night or movie night with your friends, go out for ice cream or take a fun day trip.
