UPSC CSE Notification 2024: Notification of UPSC Civil Services Examination released, know 10 big things including vacancy and eligibility.

UPSC IAS Notification 2024: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the notification of Civil Services Examination (Prelims)- 2024 (UPSC CSE Notification 2024). This time 1056 vacancies have been released. Notification can be checked by visiting the official website of UPSC upsc.gov.in. Along with this, the process of online application by visiting upsconline.nic.in has also started. Youth who want to join various civil services including IAS, IPS, IRS, IFS can apply till March 5, 2024. UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam 2024 will be held on 26 May 2024. You will be able to make amendments in the application form between March 6 and March 12. This time also the policy of first apply first allot has been implemented for UPSC exam centre. That means, the earlier you apply, the more chances you have of getting your desired exam center city.

Through this examination (UPSC CSE Notification 2024), officers will be selected for other all India services including Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS). To appear in the main examination of Indian Forest Service examination, one has to pass UPSC Civil Services Prelims. That means the prelims exam of both the competitive exams will be common.

UPSC CSE 2024 Notification: Know 10 special things about UPSC Civil Services Recruitment

1. Eligibility for Civil Services posts: Bachelor's degree in any subject from a recognized university/institute.
– Students appearing in the final examination of Bachelor degree course can fill the application form. Such candidates will have to provide proof of having obtained a Bachelor's degree while filling the Civil Services (Main Examination) form.

2. Eligibility for Indian Forest Service Examination

– Bachelor's degree with any one of the subjects Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology from a recognized institute/university. Or
– Bachelor degree in Agriculture/Forestry. Or
– Have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

3. Age Limit

– Minimum age – 21 years. Maximum age should be less than 32 years. Age will be calculated from 1st August 2024. That means the candidate must not have been born before 2 August 1992 and after 1 August 2023.

– There is a relaxation of three years for OBC category candidates, five years for SC/ST and ten years for physically handicapped category candidates in the maximum age limit.

4. Limit of efforts

General category candidates get total 6 attempts with age limit of 32 years. Whereas Other Backward Class candidates get 9 attempts till the age of 35 years. SC/ST category candidates get unlimited number of attempts till the age of 37 years.

5. Selection Process

All applicants for UPSC Civil Services Examination have to first appear in the Prelims Exam. The candidates who pass this are called to appear in the mains exam. Those who pass Mains proceed to the Interview (Personality Test). The final merit list is prepared on the basis of performance in interview and mains exam. Mains exam is of 1750 marks and interview is of 275 marks.

6. Application Fee

– Rs 100. The fee has to be paid in any branch of State Bank through cash or netbanking or Master Card/ Debit Card. Payment option will be available during the online application process.
– SC, ST, Physically Handicapped and Female candidates do not have to pay any fee.

7. UPSC Civil Services Prelims exam will be held in 80 cities.

8. Benefit in applying earlier- This time also UPSC should implement the policy of first apply first allot for the exam centre. That means, the earlier you apply, the more chances you have of getting your desired exam center city.

9. This time too there will be no option to withdraw the application. Once you apply, you will not be able to withdraw the form.
