RRB Technician Vacancy: Applications for 9000 Railway Technician Recruitment started, big change happened, 10 special things including qualification

RRB Technician Notification 2024: Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has issued detailed notification for recruitment to 9144 posts of Technician. Also, the process of online application has also started from today, March 9, 2024. The link to apply has been activated. Eligible candidates can apply for recruitment by visiting the website of the concerned RRB. The last date of application is 8 April 2024. Among the vacancies, 1092 posts are of Technician Grade-I Signal and 8052 posts are of Technician Grade-III. Technician Grade-I is a Level-5 post and Technician Grade-III is a Level-2 post. This time, the big relief for the candidates is that the examination will be conducted in only one phase. Before applying, candidates should check the medical fitness of the concerned post. Read carefully what conditions are asked for regarding eyesight (vision standard).

1. The biggest change

This time there will be only one paper in RRB Technician Recruitment. This is a big relief for the applicants. In the year 2018, when the recruitment of 26000 ALP Technicians was released, then two-stage CBT exam was conducted for the post of Technician.

2. Technician Grade-I Signal – 1092

Qualification – B.Sc (Physics or Electronics or Computer Science or IT or Instrumentation/ BE or B.Tech/ Three Year Engineering Diploma)

Technician Grade-III – 8052 Posts
Qualification:- 10th pass and ITI certificate in relevant trade.

For the post of Technician Grade-III (S&T), 10th, ITI and 12th pass with Physics and Maths has been sought.

3. Keep in mind that appearing candidates cannot apply for this recruitment. That is, if the candidate is appearing or is about to appear in the final exam of the educational qualification sought, then he cannot apply for recruitment.

4. Age Limit

Candidates between 18 to 36 years of age will be able to apply for Technician Grade-I vacancy. Candidates in the age group of 18 to 33 years will be able to apply for Technician Grade-III vacancy. SC and ST will get relaxation of five years and OBC will get three years.

5. There are two pay-level vacancies. Candidate can apply for only one RRB in one pay level vacancy. If a candidate applies to more than one Railway Recruitment Board for the same pay level vacancy, his/her forms will be rejected.

6. Selection – Written Test (CBT), Medical Test and Document Verification.

7. Technician Grade – I CBT Exam Pattern

Time will be 90 minutes and there will be 100 questions. To qualify this, unreserved category candidates will have to score 40%, OBC candidates will have to score 30%, SC will have to score 30% and ST candidates will have to score 25%. 10 questions will be asked from General Awareness, 15 from General Intelligence and Reasoning, 20 from Basic of Computer and Applications, 20 from Maths, 35 from Basic Science and Engineering. Each question will be of one mark.

8. Technician Grade – III – CBT Exam Pattern

Time will be 90 minutes and there will be 100 questions. To qualify this, unreserved category candidates will have to score 40%, OBC candidates will have to score 30%, SC will have to score 30% and ST candidates will have to score 25%. 10 questions will be asked from General Awareness, 25 from General Intelligence and Reasoning, 25 from Maths and 40 from General Science. Each question will be of one mark.

9. Negative marking

There will be negative marking in CBT. One third mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

10. Application Fee –

General, OBC, EWS Category – Rs 500. Rs 400 will be refunded to those who appear in the CBT 1 exam.
SC, ST, Women, EBC, Disabled – Rs 250. The entire amount of Rs 250 will be refunded to those who will appear in CBT 1 exam.
