Cabinet decision: Good news for graduate and diploma pass students, Yogi government will give honorarium to apprentices

The Yogi government has taken a major initiative to connect diploma as well as graduate degree holders of all disciplines with employment through skill development. The cabinet on Tuesday approved the proposal to expand the Chief Minister’s Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (Higher Education) to include all graduate youths as well. Along with this, the amount of honorarium (stipend) has been increased to nine thousand rupees per month. In this, one thousand rupees will be reimbursed by the state government to the private sector, while the remaining amount will be provided by the central government and the private sector.

The state government has made a provision of Rs 100 crore for this scheme in the budget of the financial year 2023-24. Giving information about the decisions of the cabinet, Finance Minister Suresh Khanna said that this scheme is being implemented with the aim of encouraging private institutions to provide benefits of the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) to diploma and graduate youth of the state in all disciplines. Is. This year 10 lakh youth can be benefited from this scheme.

The Finance Minister said that under this scheme, graduate trainees will get Rs 9,000 per month as honorarium. In this, the central government will have 50 percent share, that is, Rs 4500 will be given by the central government, while Rs 3500 will be given by the private institutions where this apprentice will be made. The remaining one thousand rupees will be given by the state government. Due to this additional financial assistance from the state government, private institutions will be motivated to provide apprenticeship to a large number of youth. Through this, youth will get employment for one year, while private and government institutions will get skilled personnel.
