- BGMI game is banned in India from July 2022.
- The fans of the game are waiting for its return.
- After the ban of BGMI, many fans are playing PUBG: New State Mobile.
There is disappointing news for the fans waiting for Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI). Dr. Rushindra Sinha, Founder and CEO of Global Esports, doubts the return of BGMI, the Indian version of PUBG Mobile. He says that if this game was to make a comeback, it would have come by now.
Sinha says that Krafton has invested Rs 1 crore in the Snapdragon Pro Series (SPS) New State Mobile Open India tournament. That pretty much says it all. Along with this, they say that waiting for the return of BGMI games is misleading as well as harmful for the Indian gaming community and ecosystem.
IMO the game isn’t coming back, if it was going to come back it would have by now, the silence from the publisher and the govt should be telling enough, the fact that the company that Krafton invested in is hosting a 1cr New State India LAN should be telling enough

Doubt on return of BGMI
The Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) first banned PUBG Mobile under Section 69A of the IT Act due to security concerns. After this Krafton launched BGMI in India which was banned again in July 2022. Recently, Sinha tweeted one after the other that PUBG Mobile was available in India for 30 months and it was banned for 29 months. After this the BGMI game was available for 10 months and has been banned for the last seven months. Rushindra Sinha believes that BGMI will not come back to India and the silence of the developers and the government is a clear proof of this. Also, Crafton has made a big investment for New State Mobile’s eSports tournament in India, which clearly indicates that BGMI’s return is impossible. This is the first time that a person associated with a big gaming company in India has spoken like this. Earlier it was being told that this game could return to India in January 2023. However, the game did not return and it is now being reported that BGMI may arrive in April 2023.
